A native of the Manatee County area. Shirley started singing at the age of twelve in the adult choir at St. John First Institutional Baptist Church in Palmetto, Florida. First soloist/lead, and she is still singing fifty years later "God Specializes."
Ministering/performances: numerous concerts and community affairs, with other churches and communuty choirs.
Singing groups included: Voices for Christ, The Butler Singers, New Life Baptist Church as worship leader, Church on the Rock in Palmetto, Florida.
She has performed in two musicals at the Manatee Players in Bradenton, Florida.
