John W. Wilcox, (born on April 15, 1940) in Sarasota, Florida is a dynamic baritone singer, musician songwriter and producer. He is best known as the bass player for the "Fabulous Delrays" and the owner of the Palms of Bradenton from (1969-1972). In the Palms, John Wilcox along with the Delrays opened for several major artists such as Eddie Floyd, Ollie and the Nightingales, Clarence Carter, Betty Wright, James Brown, Bennie Lattimore, Bobby Womack, The Almond Brothers etc...
After the murder of his mother by an in-law in a domestic violence dispute, Mr. Wilcox, no longer wanting to be associated with the night club life style, went in to hibernation for about twenty years or more. He later surfaced in the early 1990's reforming another band called "The Fabulous New Delrays Band."
